Hot foil stamping is a printing technique in which a heated plate presses a metallic gold film onto the paper. The golden layer transfers only onto the design of the plate: coat of arms, letters, numbers. The result is a truly shiny and metallic gold that reflects light and changes brilliance depending on the angle, far removed from the matte finish of yellow ink. On the black background of BLASON bands, this contrast gives a look very similar to the prestige bands of major manufacturers. It is a decorative gold-colored film, not real gold: it is the visual effect that is precious.

BLASON bands combine a coat of arms or monogram with names and a date, according to the design shown in the visuals. It is the ideal formula for a couple ("Anne & Paul"), a family, or a dated event. The supplier does not communicate a maximum number of characters: as the gilded surface is limited (8.3 × 2.5 cm), favor short texts, which will remain legible and elegant. The text is reproduced exactly as you transmit it. If you wish for a specific formulation, for example, a date in Roman numerals or an event title, ask us before ordering to verify feasibility.

The text is submitted at the time of order, in the designated customization field, or via message to customer service after ordering by quoting your order number. Clearly indicate the names, date, and, if you wish, the initials of the monogram. We advise you to copy-paste your text and have it proofread: as the gilding is done to order, a typo would be reproduced on all the bands in the batch. Capital letters, accents, and signs (ampersands, dots in the date) are reproduced as you write them. If in doubt about the presentation, our team will gladly advise you.

The 20-band batch is suitable for a dinner, an evening with loved ones, a wedding anniversary celebrated in a small group, or for composing a cigar gift set. The 50-band batch is designed for larger receptions: weddings, family celebrations, company parties, or galas. In all cases, plan for a few extra bands than the number of cigars offered, to keep a margin in case of a failed application or an additional guest. Remaining bands are gladly kept as souvenirs, slipped into an album or in a frame next to the event invitation.

With a length of 8.3 cm, the BLASON band goes all the way around most common cigars, from corona to robusto and toro, with more or less overlap depending on the diameter. The supplier does not provide a specific ring gauge range for this model. For very large calibers, simply measure the circumference of your cigar with a strip of paper: if it remains less than the length of the band, it will close. On a very thin cigar, the overlap will be wider but the band will remain perfectly presentable, with the coat of arms centered on top of the cigar.

No, the batch includes only the personalized bands, in quantities of 20 or 50. You are free to choose the cigars that will wear them. For a prestige evening, a robusto or corona format is often appreciated: it can be enjoyed in forty minutes to an hour, which is well-suited to the end of a dinner. Keep your cigars in a humidor or airtight box until the day of application, then store them away again once banded. Hot foil stamping is sturdy, but it does not like repeated friction or moisture. Handle the bands by the edges, with dry hands, and avoid sliding them against each other. Before application, store them flat in their packaging, away from heat and direct light. Once applied, store the cigars side-by-side in a box rather than loose, so the coats of arms do not rub against other objects. Presented this way, the bands will maintain their brilliance until the moment of tasting, and well beyond if your guests choose to keep them as souvenirs.
