Ribbed ceramicNatural tones3 sizes

With Origin Ovālis, the Ovālis line returns to its raw material: earth. Each vase adopts the brand's signature silhouette—a flat body pierced by an elongated vertical opening with softened angles and topped with a small neck—but dresses it this time in a finely ribbed surface, as if scratched by hand, which catches raking light. Three earthy shades accompany three heights: the Medium in natural beige (18 cm), the Large in deep brown (21.5 cm), and the Extra Large in pure white (37 cm). Their slim thickness of 5 to 6 cm allows them to fit on a narrow console, fireplace mantel, or shelf without cluttering the space. A single dried flower stem slipped into the neck is enough to bring them to life; left empty, they already trace a graphic line on the wall. Grouped together, the three formats create a very natural gradient of tones and heights, from the ground to the light, in a wabi-sabi and minimalist spirit.

Three sizes, three shades

Medium
Medium · natural beige
18 x 12 x 5 cm, for a short stem or a succulent
Large
Large · deep brown
21.5 x 10.5 x 5 cm, for a small bouquet
Extra Large
Extra Large · pure white
37 x 15 x 6 cm, for tall branches

Dimensions given in height x width x thickness, with a tolerance of approximately 0.5 cm. Each size corresponds to a unique shade: beige for the Medium, brown for the Large, white for the Extra Large.

The material

A ceramic that retains the trace of the maker's hand

The ceramic is born from clay that is shaped and then fired at a high temperature, giving it its hardness and presence. On Origin Ovālis, the surface is not smoothed: it is traversed by fine vertical and oblique ribs, clearly visible in our close-ups, which evoke a tool passed through the still-fresh earth. The neck and edges concentrate these grooves, while the faces remain softer.

This relief completely changes the relationship with light: depending on the time of day, the vase appears velvety and almost raw, or conversely, very graphic. The chosen shades—beige, brown, and white—remain close to the natural colors of clay and stone, hence the name "Origin." Beneath the base, small dark pads visible in our photos isolate the ceramic from the furniture.

A tiered trio

In our photos, the three Origin Ovālis vases stand side by side on a wooden tray, in front of a plum-colored wall: the white reaches upward in the back, the brown takes center stage in the foreground, and the beige bridges the two. The eye moves from one opening to the next, perceiving the group as a single composition.

The chosen stems are intentionally sparse: an orange dried flower, a branch of white blossoms, a burgundy corolla. That is the essence of the collection: to let the form and texture breathe, keeping only the gesture of the bouquet. In an interior with warm tones—wood, linen, terracotta—the trio naturally finds its place.

Styling your Origin Ovālis

1
Choose a plain background, whether a light or colored wall, so that the line of the opening stands out clearly.
2
Place the tallest in the back and the smaller ones in front, slightly offset, to create depth.
3
Insert a single stem per neck, using different lengths for each vase.
4
Take advantage of raking light from a window or side lamp to reveal the ribs of the ceramic.

Comparing the three sizes

Size Shade Dimensions (H x W x D) Recommended use
Medium Natural beige 18 x 12 x 5 cm Small flowers, succulents, short stem
Large Deep brown 21.5 x 10.5 x 5 cm Medium bouquets, central element
Extra Large Pure white 37 x 15 x 6 cm Branches, tall arrangements
Good to know: each size is sold individually and corresponds to a single shade. To recreate the trio from our photos, add all three sizes to your cart separately. The flowers, books, and decor items visible in the photos are not included.
Our tip: to bring out the ribbed relief, avoid frontal lighting and prefer light coming from the side. In the evening, a small lamp placed nearby will cast fine shadows on the ceramic, giving the vase an almost sculpted appearance.

Technical specifications

Product Decorative ceramic vase
Collection Origin Ovālis
Material Ceramic
Surface Finely ribbed
Shape Flat, elongated central opening, small neck
Medium Natural beige, 18 x 12 x 5 cm
Large Deep brown, 21.5 x 10.5 x 5 cm
Extra Large Pure white, 37 x 15 x 6 cm

Recommended use Single stem, dried flowers, decoration
Please note: dimensions may vary by approximately 0.5 cm, and the ribbed texture, unique to each piece, may differ slightly from one item to another. Ceramic is fragile: lift the vase by its base rather than the neck. Since the neck is narrow, opt for one to three thin stems.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dimensions of each size?
The Origin Ovālis collection comes in three formats. The Medium is 18 cm high, 12 cm wide, and 5 cm deep. The Large is 21.5 cm high, 10.5 cm wide, and 5 cm deep—making it more slender than the Medium. The Extra Large reaches 37 cm high, with a width of 15 cm and a depth of 6 cm. Dimensions may vary slightly by about half a centimeter from piece to piece. Their slim thickness makes them easy to place on narrow surfaces.
Can I choose the color independently of the size?
No: in the Origin Ovālis collection, each size is associated with one specific shade. The Medium is offered in natural beige, the Large in deep brown, and the Extra Large in pure white. This choice makes it easy to compose a harmonious set: by grouping all three sizes, you automatically obtain a gradient of heights and shades, from the lightest to the deepest, without having to worry about color coordination. Each size also looks beautiful on its own.
What is special about the surface?
The Origin Ovālis ceramic is not smooth: it features a finely ribbed relief, as if the earth had been worked with a tool before firing. These grooves are particularly prominent around the neck and on the edge of the vase, as shown in our close-ups. They capture the light very differently depending on the time of day and the lighting, giving each piece a natural, almost artisanal feel. This texture may vary slightly from one piece to the next, making every vase unique.
What flowers should I put in these vases?
The small neck of the Origin Ovālis is designed for minimalist arrangements: a single stem, or two or three at most. The Medium is suitable for small flowers or short stems; the Large accommodates a small bouquet; the Extra Large showcases a tall branch, either flowering or dried. In our photos, we chose dried flowers in warm tones and a branch of white blossoms. These vases are also very beautiful empty, serving as a sculptural element on a shelf or desk.
How should I arrange the three sizes together?
For a balanced composition, place the white Extra Large in the back or to the side, then the brown Large and the beige Medium slightly in front, offsetting them so the openings do not overlap completely. Vary the length of the stems in each vase. A console, sideboard, mantel, or large shelf are perfect spots. Against a colored background, as seen in our photos, the contrast with the white and beige is particularly successful.
How do I care for the ribbed ceramic?
Dust regularly with a soft brush or a dry, soft cloth: the brush is ideal for removing dust lodged in the ribs. For any marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Avoid harsh household products, abrasive sponges, and prolonged immersion. Handle the vase by its base rather than the neck, which is more delicate. Store it away from potential impacts if you temporarily remove it from your decor, perhaps wrapped in a soft cloth.
Is this a good gift idea?
Yes, especially for those sensitive to natural materials and uncluttered interiors. A single Origin Ovālis, accompanied by a dried flower stem, makes an elegant gift for a housewarming, birthday, or as a token of thanks. The complete trio, with its three sizes and shades, is a more generous present, ideal for a wedding or settling into a new home. Its ribbed texture gives it a personality that sets it apart from classic, smooth vases. A lasting gift that fits many interior styles.
