Crazy horse leather — the material that tells your story
Crazy horse leather is full-grain leather treated with hot wax and oil using a time-tested technique that gives it an oiled, matte, and slightly rustic appearance. Its unique feature: the material has a light waxy coating on the surface which, through friction or a simple movement of the thumb, reveals lighter contrasting shades — this is known as the "pull-up" effect.
With use, the VOYAGEUR Mario ages beautifully: the grip areas darken slightly, creases become more pronounced, and the patina develops. Where plastic imitation leather becomes dull, crazy horse leather becomes more beautiful, richer, and more yours. The suede-effect interior, meanwhile, provides the softness needed to slide the console in and out safely: the contact is velvety, never abrasive, and gentle on screens and finishes.

How do you know which size to order? Measure your console lying flat, with the side controllers attached. If it measures approximately 25.8 cm wide by 10.2 cm high, choose the 1st generation model. If it measures approximately 27.2 cm by 11.6 cm — larger screen, more imposing chassis —, opt for the 2nd generation. Each size is custom-fit: a case that is too large lets the console rattle around, while a case that is too tight forces it in. Choose the size suited to your model.
Crazy horse leather care: wipe regularly with a soft, dry cloth — minor surface scratches are camouflaged with a simple pass of the thumb (the oil in the material redistributes). Once or twice a year, apply an un-dyed leather milk or cream to nourish the fibers and revive the patina. Avoid prolonged contact with water, direct sunlight, and intense heat sources.

Choose the right size: the VOYAGEUR Mario is custom-fit by generation. The 1st Gen model will not fit the 2nd Gen (too large), and the 2nd Gen will let the 1st Gen rattle around. Check your console's generation before ordering. Natural leather variations: color and grain vary slightly from one case to another — this is the signature of full-grain crazy horse leather, not a defect. The console, its controllers, and the cartridges are not included.
