Everything you need to know

The NIDO pendant light evokes a plant nest suspended from the ceiling: a dome of dried rattan strips, assembled by hand on an internal frame, whose ruffled strands radiate in all directions to create a lively and wild texture. Natural rattan When lit, the light shines through the canopy of fibers and casts a network of warm, shifting shadows on the walls and ceiling — a spectacle that changes depending on the angle and intensity of the bulb. Its format of 50 cm in diameter by 25 cm in height is ideal above a dining table, a kitchen island, or a reading corner. The black cable and E27 socket ensure quick and easy installation on any existing light point. Raw, organic, textured: the NIDO brings to an interior that natural presence that no smooth lampshade can replicate — particularly striking installed as a duo above a large table.

Dried rattan — raw, living fiber

Rattan is a tropical vine whose stems are harvested, split into strips, and then naturally sun-dried. This drying process sets the fiber in a golden honey hue with warm undertones and gives the strips that flexible rigidity that allows them to be assembled into light yet durable structures.

On the NIDO, the rattan strips are not braided in an orderly fashion: they are arranged freely on a rounded frame, with strands that protrude and intersect organically. It is this technique that gives the pendant light its ruffled and wild look — an effect impossible to replicate with synthetic materials. Each piece features natural variations in shade and texture that make it unique.

NIDO — light in its wild state

The NIDO looks like no other pendant light you have seen. It does not smooth, polish, or geometrize: it lets the material speak. The dried rattan strips burst from the frame like the strands of a bird's nest — some straight, others curved, all different. Turned off, it is a plant sculpture suspended in space, an object of curiosity that attracts the hand as much as the eye. Turned on, it transforms: the light pierces through the gaps and draws a pattern of organic, warm, and shifting shadows on the walls, which change with every draft. In a duo above a kitchen island or a restaurant table, the effect is striking — two luminous cocoons that dialogue and warm the atmosphere without any artificiality. It is the type of light fixture that makes guests look up and sparks conversation before the dishes even arrive.

Four-step installation

1
Cut the power. Trip the circuit breaker for the room in question before any work. Verify the absence of current with a voltage tester.
2
Attach the bracket to the ceiling. Screw the mounting bracket to the existing anchor point. Thread the black cable through and adjust the desired hanging length (cable provided, length adjustable on request).
3
Connect the wires. Connect phase, neutral, and ground to the terminals of the provided terminal block or quick connector. Check the stability of the connections before closing the ceiling cap.
4
Install the bulb and turn it on. Screw in an E27 bulb (not included) — opt for a warm white LED (2,700 K) to enhance the golden tones of the rattan. Restore the power.

NIDO vs FOLIA — which pendant light should you choose?

Criteria NIDO FOLIA
Shape Ruffled dome (nest) Asymmetrical corolla (leaf)
Texture Loose strands, wild Radial weaving, orderly
Material Dried rattan in strips Rattan woven on frame
Tones Natural (golden honey) Natural · Off-white
Size D50 × H25 cm 4 sizes (D40 to D80 cm)
Style Bohemian, wabi-sabi, raw Scandinavian, Japandi, sleek
Projected shadows Dense, irregular Fine, radiant
Duo effect Spectacular Spectacular

Bulb and socket: the NIDO is equipped with an E27 socket (standard). The bulb is not included. We recommend a warm white LED (2,700 K) of 6 to 10 W for warm lighting that highlights the honey tones of the rattan. An LED bulb with an exposed filament produces the most beautiful effect through the canopy of fibers.

Decor tip: the NIDO is particularly striking as a duo — two pendant lights installed side by side at slightly offset heights above a kitchen island or rectangular table create an organic and warm effect. Hang it 70-80 cm above a table or 2 m from the floor for ambient lighting. Its raw and textured style matches perfectly with bohemian, wabi-sabi, rustic-chic interiors, or restaurant and wine bar spaces.

Electrical installation: the connection to the mains must be performed without power (trip the circuit breaker). If you are not comfortable with the wiring, call a qualified electrician. Dried rattan is a flammable natural material: do not exceed the recommended power (10 W LED max.) and never use a high-power halogen or incandescent bulb in direct proximity to the lampshade.

A decor gift that leaves no one indifferent

The NIDO is the type of light fixture that triggers a reaction as soon as it is seen — its raw texture and filtered light make it a particularly striking housewarming, birthday, or wedding gift. Give it alone for a statement effect, or as a duo for a spectacular composition above a table. A gift that transforms the atmosphere of a room in minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What material is the NIDO made of?
The NIDO is made of dried natural rattan. The rattan strips are split, sun-dried, and then assembled by hand on an internal metal frame. The strands are arranged freely, some protruding and intersecting organically — this is the technique that gives the pendant light its characteristic ruffled and wild look. Each piece presents natural variations in shade and texture that make it unique.
Is the bulb included?
No — the NIDO is delivered without a bulb. It is equipped with an E27 socket, the most common type. We recommend a warm white LED (2,700 K) bulb of 6 to 10 W for warm lighting. LED bulbs with exposed filaments are particularly aesthetic: the light piercing through the rattan strips produces a spectacular play of shadows on the walls.
Can two NIDOs be installed together?
It is actually one of the most beautiful decor effects of the NIDO. Two pendant lights installed side by side at slightly offset heights above a kitchen island or a rectangular table create an organic and warm composition. The effect is particularly striking in restaurant spaces — wine bars, bistros, guest tables — where the two luminous cocoons warm the atmosphere and spark conversation.
How do I maintain the NIDO pendant light?
Maintenance is simple: regular dusting with a feather duster or vacuum (brush attachment, reduced power) is sufficient. If a strand comes loose or breaks, remove it gently without pulling on neighboring fibers — the density of the pendant light makes the loss of a strand invisible. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct humidity and splashes: dried rattan is made for dry interiors.
Is the color of the rattan exactly as in the photos?
Dried rattan is a natural material: each piece presents slight shade variations ranging from light honey to golden caramel, depending on the harvest and drying. These nuances are the signature of a handcrafted product — they are not a defect but make the charm of an authentic material. Ambient light also strongly influences perception: rattan looks more golden in warm light and more neutral in cold light.
Is the NIDO suitable for a bathroom or outdoors?
No — the NIDO is designed for dry interiors only. Dried rattan absorbs humidity, which can cause mold, softening of the fiber, and deformation of the structure. Avoid bathrooms, uninsulated sunrooms, and covered terraces. In a dry interior, the NIDO retains its shape and color for many years with minimal maintenance.
What is the difference between the NIDO and the FOLIA?
Both pendant lights are made of natural rattan, but their aesthetics are very different. The FOLIA has an asymmetrical leaf shape with an orderly radial weave — it is sleek, Scandinavian, available in 2 tones and 4 sizes. The NIDO has a ruffled dome shape with free and wild strands — it is raw, bohemian, wabi-sabi. The FOLIA casts fine and radiant shadows; the NIDO casts denser and irregular shadows. Both are spectacular in a duo.
