Zamak is an alloy composed mainly of zinc with aluminum, magnesium, and copper. It offers shock resistance 4 to 5 times higher than pure aluminum, excellent dimensional stability, and does not corrode. It is the alloy used for precision mechanical parts.

The Aurora tube measures 17.5 × 2.5 cm in external dimensions and holds one cigar. It is suitable for medium-length and medium-diameter formats, which you might want to bring along for an evening or a day out. Keep in mind that the wall thickness slightly reduces the interior space compared to the exterior dimensions: before ordering, compare the length and diameter of your favorite cigars. For very long or high-gauge modules, our customer service will be happy to advise you. Never force a cigar into the tube: the wrapper is fragile and could split.

Thanks to its airtight seal, the Aurora limits exchanges with the outside air: the cigar retains its humidity for several days, provided it was placed inside well-preserved, at around 65 to 72% relative humidity. It is the ideal solution for travel, an evening out, or a golf outing. However, a tube is not intended for long-term storage: without regulation, the cigar would eventually lose its balance. Upon returning, place it back in your humidor. Also avoid exposing the tube to the sun or in a heated car, as heat damages the aromas.

For normal use, it is not necessary. The airtight seal keeps the cigar's own humidity contained: simply take it out of your humidor, well-stabilized between 65 and 72%, just before leaving. Never put wet cotton or a sponge in the tube: free water in contact with the wrapper causes stains, swelling, and a risk of mold. For a trip longer than a week, it is better to carry your cigars in a travel case equipped with a small, suitable humidification source, then use the Aurora for the cigar of the day.

Maintenance is minimal. Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. Avoid scouring sponges, abrasive products, and solvents, which would scratch the Gold or Black finish. The interior must remain clean and dry: if you rinse it, let it dry completely, open, before placing a cigar back inside, as residual moisture could stain the wrapper. Also avoid leaving a partially smoked cigar inside, as its odor would permeate the tube. Maintained in this way, the zamak alloy will durably retain its appearance and robustness.

The difference is solely aesthetic. Both versions share the same zamak alloy, the same 17.5 × 2.5 cm dimensions, and the same airtight seal: the protection of your cigar is strictly identical.
